Walter Moore is a native of South Alabama and lives in a rustic, wooded setting ten miles southwest of Andalusia. A self-taught artist, Walter has what is called in the artworld, a drawing hand. In the past, his pen and ink drawings were very popular and he enjoyed this medium. It wasn`t until his career took him to the beaches of Alabama and Florida that his interest moved to abstract art. Using a variety of materials, he now creates wonderful mixed media abstract paintings.




ARTIST STATEMENT
Unlike my pen and ink drawings, when I am painting a new piece of art, there are no rules. I feel free to use layers and layers of an assortment of materials. This freedom of expression brings forth a cumulative composition usually beginning as something real and drifting to abstraction.
