Statement
Shirley says ”art is an important part of my life. Painting to me, no matter what the medium, is my passion because art is not only food for the eyes, but for the soul. I do not limit myself to one style of painting. I love the lines and angles of pen and ink house drawings and, my favorite, watercolor house portraits. I also enjoy the freedom of using oils and acrylics for landscapes, still life and florals. My painting style can be considered representational."
She has lived out in the country in Elmore County all of her life. After retiring from a full-time job with Regions Bank in 2000, she began to take her art abilities seriously. She now serves as President of the Elmore County Art Guild and is a member of the Prattauga Art Guild.
