The foundation for the theme of Mike Klungs original paintings was laid before Mike even had visions of becoming an artist



Growing up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, he spent countless hours exploring the woods and climbing trees near his home. The outdoors became his personal escape from the real world.

Upon graduating from High School, Mike began his own business if painting specialized mats for framing galleries around Baton Rouge. This small business soon grew into a thriving framing business of his own.

After working in the art and framing indutry for eleven years, Mike felt artistically stale and searched for new outlets for his creativity. He decided to try his hand as an artist.

It was here that Mikes natural love for outdoors and art came together. His desire was to paint trees in a unique form: capturing their life in his art. His style developed and soon he had taken something as tangible as nature and turned it into a surreal experience.

Since then his paintings have grown to popularity and are now shown in galleries across the U.S.

Mike still resides in his hometown of baton Rouge with his wife and three children.
