Emilee Lyons is a native of Mobile, Alabama where coastal life and scenery have been a dominant influence in her painting.

She graduated from Randolph-Macon Woman's College where she was elected Phi Beta Kappa. She spent her junior year in France studying at the Universite de Paris and at the Atelier de la Grande Chaurniere. She has also studied at the Eastern Shore Art Academy, University of South Alabama and with Charles Reid, Henry Caselli, Robert Wood and others.

Twice winner of the First Place in Painting award of the Mobile Art Association Fall Juried Show, she has also received the Francis Palmer Ward award of the Mobile Watercolor and Graphic Arts Society in 1984 and 1990 and a merit award in Art and the Alabama Woman.

Her work is represented in the collections of AmSouth Bank, Marriott/s Grand Hotel and the Country Club of Mobile.

She was chosen a calendar artist for the Eastern Shore Art Center ”Showcase” calendar and was given a two-woman exhibition at the Eastern Shore Art Center.

Her paintings have been accepted in the American Impressionist Society Annual Juried Show and in the Montgomery Museum of Art Biannual Juried Show and she received the Judge/s Award from Henry Caselli in the Bay Rivers Art Guild Annual Juried Show. Having had paintings accepted in three National Juried Exhibitions of the American Impressionist Society, she attained signature status in this organization.

She has served as president of the Mobile Watercolor and Graphics Arts Society and as member of the Alabama State Council on the Arts.
