Artist Statement:
My new series of paintings, ”Sycamore Dreams,” was influenced by my walks thru the surrounding countryside, with its changing light and changing seasons, the warmth of summer passing into the radiant hues of fall, on into the more subtle beauty of winter, with its muted palette of ochres and umbers. The landscapes reflect the energy, harmony and underlying dynamics of Nature..

Bio:
Travel has always influenced Carol's artwork. She spent her four high school years in Rome, Italy, the cradle of art history. Rome is a city blessed with a culture that has loved and respected art for centuries, and studying there had a direct impact on her path in life.
She then attended the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, graduating in 1978 with a degree in literature and art history. She has since then taught art in public and private schools, choosing to inspire the up-and-coming generation with a love of art. In 2005, she was chosen to create the awards for the Montgomery Business and Committee for the Arts. Her artwork has also appeared in numerous books and publications.

Alabama, June 3, 2011 to June 30, 2011. Opening reception: June 16, 2011, 6:00pm to 8:00pm, Ferguson Gallery. Open to the public.
