Statement
My artwork is a constant search for the best way to interpret the ideas that I have about myself and my journey through life. It is about what captures my attention, what moves me emotionally, how I see the world. Each piece I create is simultaneously an extension of the past, where I have been and what I have learned, and a preview of the future, where I am going. I do not limit myself to one style or concept. Inspiration and ideas change. Knowledge changes from experience and continuous learning.
To me, beauty lies in all of creation. I am often attracted to the intricacies of nature. I am moved by the beauty of nature, whether it is my own garden or a far place that where I have travelled. I see the world through color and shape. My paintings usually start with a color idea. The changing light of day and the moods it creates are often the foundations of my paintings. Then, they evolve into compositions in which color and shape are the primary subjects. I use color and shape to reflect movement, rhythm, and texture.
